Toto undergone sterilisation this afternoon.
Right now, she is still looking very frightened and refuse to eat.
Hope she reverts to her active old self soon.
Worried.
Hoping to cook this tomorrow.
Ingredients
· 200 gram of celery, cut into pieces, crosswise
· 100 gram of white radish, halved lengthwise and cut into thin slices
· 1 carrot, cut into pieces, crosswise
· 50 gram Golden needle mushroom, trimmed root
· 1 cube chicken stock
Optional:
· 1/4 piece of bamboo shoot, halved and cut into thin slices
· 1/2 small root of lotus root (about 5 slices), halved lengthwise and cut into thin slices
· 5 fresh Shiitake mushroom, trimmed root and cut into small pieces
Instructions:
1) Heat large pot with butter and olive over medium-high fire.
2) Place chicken thigh followed by mushrooms and vegetables into pot to sauté for a minute.
3) Add in water and bring it to a boil. Add and dissolve chicken stock cube in the pot.
4) Cover pot with lid. Reduce heat to low fire to stew the ingredients for at least 2 hours, or until ingredients are soften.
5) Stir in salt and continue to stew for 10 minutes before heat off.
6) Serve hot.

Met Panda for lunch at Suntec. Yummy buffet spread at Joaquin! Been eons since I makan there.
Did a bit of window-shopping at City Link. Nothing much to see despite the number of new shops. Noticed a Hershey shop in the making. That means City Link will start smelling like Willy Wonka chocolate factory soon. yum yum.
Sighted a chinese funeral procession as I was walking home from Mrt station. Took some pictures, using the wrong settings! What a shame.
It’s ok. Next round will be better ![]()
Oh, why is this entry titled 野蛮女友? Heeheehee..because I usurped somebody’s Canon EOS 500. He didn’t get any chance to reject me. hohoho. Next will be his MacBook Pro…hiaks hiaks hiaks ….

女孩子什么时候会觉得对不起家里?
那是她爱上一个男人的时候。
她是家里的宠儿,父母虽然不富有,但却十分疼爱她、迁就她。
她在家里,绝对不需要做任何家务,妈妈连一只碗也舍不得让她洗。
这么大的一个人了,连穿过的内裤,也是妈妈替她洗的。每天早上,妈妈叫她起床,她还要赖在床上发脾气,骂妈妈。
“不要吵醒我。”
妈妈噜嗦几句,她立刻就板起脸孔说:
“你很烦!”然后大力关上房门。
爸爸比妈妈更疼她,她喜欢什么,爸爸都尽力满足她。
她半夜三点钟才回家,爸爸也爬起床到楼下接她。
她考试成绩不好,爸爸特意请假陪她到处去找学校。
她一直觉得家人这样对她,是理所当然的,直至她苦恋一个男人。
她竟然替他洗内裤、倒垃圾、刷地板、收拾床铺、到超级市场买日用品。
他明天有重要事情要早起,她竟然坐在那里不敢睡,为了明早要唤醒他。
他向她发脾气,她哭着问他:
“我有什么地方不好,你告诉我,我会改的。”
他赶她走,她抱着他的腿说:
“我很爱你,求你不要赶我走。”
他掴她一巴掌,她含泪问他:
“我做错了什么?”
午夜梦回的时候,她终于知道,她多么对不起家里

Trying to replicate, but it’s seriously hard to reproduce tat blur look. And mine look like it’s gonna run away …
Plan A was to have two dishes - a pot of veggie soup and a bowl of soupy udon.
+ dried scallops and a pinch of salt for the soup
Veggie soup turns out to be quite bland (i guess I am kinda prudent aka kiasee where salt is concerned) …
Hence, Plan B:
which is to throw all the veg and tofu into the udon pot (with the seasoning tat comes along with the noodle)

Salted Veggie Soup
I referenced the recipe from Ms Patricia BB of ‘My Wok Life’.

Patricia has roasted duck in her soup though (yum yum). I didnt use any duck meat or no pork ribs. Simply vegs and luncheon meat (I did say I have one big can of luncheon meat to clear right? damn sick of the thing by now.)
My soup is nothing as compared to granny’s 咸菜鸭汤. But it’s way better than I expected. Only one rant -– too much of the tomato taste. It shld be a fleeting, elusive accompaniment but it damn well nearly overpowered the salted veggie. Next time I will use half a tomato.
Steamed Silky Toufu in Dried Shrimp Sauce
Oh! Halfway thru the preparation, the easily-distracted damsel saw a pic at the bottom of the above recipe page. Silken steamed tofu in dried shrimps sauce!!!

Sounds and look yummy! Like agedashi tofu lydat .. haha. So i tried it as well.
5 minutes into the sauce frying, i thgt it’s gonna be a gone case. Too little oil. everything stick to the pan and get burnt at horrendous speed.
So, damsie decide to throw all caution to the winds (as usual …)
and .. ah… improvise! (read: anyhow cook….)
The end product turns out to be quite goood leh. It has a very interesting taste to it. I dunno how to describe. Abit charred (coz burnt), abit cooling (tofu) .. a hint of fragrance (i added mushrooms) … Together with the slight saltiness of the dried shrimps, everything blended very well.
Once again, thanks to Ms Patricia BB. She has an idiot-proof recipe there :D And most impt of all, it’s the way she make everything sounds so do-able.
PS: Feeling quite full now … usuallie i will cook in the early afternoon so that I can split the meal into two – lunch and dinner. Today I only started cooking at 5pm. Looks like this gotta be Dinner and Supper/Breakfast.

(当然所谓 value-add 也包括 happiness value 啦,哈哈!所以这个 value-add 很 subjective 就是了。 我高兴做的话,谁又能说我在浪费时间呢?)
Still, when I was running till I thot my lungs would burst and I find myself gasping for precious precious air, I thgt it’s really great being able to breathe.
我就是很享受那种纯粹为了呼吸而呼吸的感觉。 Best part is, not only can I breathe, I can also hear, see, sense, taste and move!
hence, the 呼吸 and 静动 crapz above :P
Actuallie it felt easier than yesterday, but I guess the up-slope towards the end was a killer (i changed route) … i nearly died there. hahaa!!!!! Tomorrow I will run towards Bt Merah central...

After dinner, went jogging. Run 20 min only, and I started gasping for air. Yes, very 逊. The last time i jogged must be eons ago. Shall try to do it everyday (ahem ahem. Talk is cheep).

Get from granny: tomato, oil and rice
Lunch: Angel Hair Spaghetti with ABC soup
What’s in this dish:
Angel-hair spaghetti with pasta sauce (a pinch of salt + pepper)
ABC soup consisting of carrots, white radish, sweet corn, king oyster. Soup base is ikan bilis and dried shrimps again. These work wonders.
Feedback:
The soup taste good. As usual, wish there’s more though. I started with one big pot and ended with half.
I cooked this from memory, didn’t really check out any recipes. Now that I surfed online for a proper recipe, I belatedly realise that ABC soup uses potatoes, not white radish. But well, I don’t like potatoes and I heart white radish.
And I learnt today that white radish has a cooling (凉) nature hence is not recommended for old people.
Just nice, I was suffering from throat dryness and gum soreness. The cooling effect will do me good.
Wondering how to remove the raw aftertaste from white radish though. And too much corn this time round. Next time will just use a quarter sweet corn.
Oh yah! I habent quite reviewed the San Remos angel hair spaghetti right? It has a nice bite to it, and cook quickly. But it’s wheat flavoured .. so … not everyone will like it. Took abit of getting used to.
